Dr. Nivedita Das Kundu,(Ph.D) is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in university teaching and think tank research, specializing in International Relations. She is affiliated with the York University in Toronto and Alatoo-International University, Bishkek, where she holds Associate Professors position in International Relations. She is presently teaching Bachelor's and Master's students and supervising Ph.D students at a State University in Tashkent under Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Republic of Uzbekistan, as an Associate Professor of International Relations.Dr. Nivedita's educational background includes a Master's and doctoral studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and the University of Helsinki, Finland. She further pursued post-doctoral studies at the Woodrow Wilson Centre for Scholars in Washington DC. Throughout her career, she has contributed to academia and research by teaching at renowned institutions across the globe, including universities in Canada, Germany, Finland, India, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, China and Azerbaijan. Her expertise has been sought after by prestigious government think tanks such as the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, Indian Council for World Affairs, Indian Council for Social Science Research, United Services Institution of India, and the Centre for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan.Dr. Nivedita's international engagement is evident through her roles as a visiting fellow at institutions like Moscow State Institute for International Relations, Moscow State University, Institute for Oriental Studies in Russia, Institute for International Relations in Kiev, and the School of International Relations at Sichuan University, Center for Russia, East European and Eurasian studies, University of Texas and at St Edward University. She is a prolific author, having authored two books and edited seven others on subjects related to International Relations. Her research contributions encompass research papers, articles in various research journals, websites, newspapers, and chapters in edited books. Her insights frequently feature in international print and broadcast media. Dr. Nivedita has augmented her expertise through additional qualifications. She holds a qualification in women, borders, and migration studies from the University of Hannover, Germany, and another in Eurasian Studies from the Pushkin Institute, Russia.Her research interests revolve around geopolitics, foreign policy, security's strategic dimensions, multilateral organizations, as well as, women and migration issues. Her remarkable achievements include being awarded the prestigious state award "Pushkin Medal" in 2013. She has also been the recipient of esteemed fellowships, including DAAD (Germany), RAS (Russia), CIMO (European Union), ICSSR (India), and ADA (Azerbaijan). Notably, Dr. Nivedita Kundu is a member of the Chemical Weapons Convention Coalition, actively working on weapons of mass destruction (WMD) issues and concerns. She is a regular speaker at CSP-OPCW (UN) sessions held at The Hague.Dr. Nivedita Das Kundu has recently become an Advisor for the expert working committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization SCO-TEMP (Trade and Economic Multifunctional Platform for SCO countries). Presently she is also a non-residential fellow and life member at the prestigious institutions such as the United Services Institution of India, Science for Peace- at University of Toronto, and the Valdai Discussion Club of Russia.
