Judith Gautier (1845-1917) grew up among Europe's literary and musical avant-garde. An unapologetic admirer of Richard Wagner, she wrote a number of works on the composer. Reissued here is the 1910 English translation of her effusive account of her first two visits to Wagner in Switzerland in 1869 and 1870.
